welding in a battery tray and a right rear corner in a 68 bus, is it better to spot weld -let it cooll then grind it down or spot weld a little here and there until complete then grind all at once ? Im trying my welding techniques again on this rear corner since i welded a wheel arch in and got it to hot and it sunk in / what a mess , read a lot of forums already so please help a vw brother out ! :bay_white:

I normally finish all my welds then grind. Just let it cool between spots and go easy when you grind. That can warp metal too.

use a compressed air chuck to blow cool air on the welds after each spot weld. That can cool it 60 - 100 degrees quickly.

If you don't have a compressor, just pick up a couple cans of air-duster at your local frys, staples, wal-mart, etc.
