Hello

I know theres a massive thread about cab seats, but I need to make one has anyone done this at all and got any tips?

I have a later seat frame and will use the locating bars and am thinking off attaching to ply board with foam on top and covering sounds pretty straight forward but thought someone must have done it before and you friendly people would know and hopefully could supply me with photos and give tips :)

Thanks

Simon

I will check the dimensions as I always keep a record :D

That's cool. So there made to order? Does he do all the different barndoor front seat types?

When I asked him to make me one he already had a base made, but was for earlier years, so I asked if he would make one for my 54, which he did, no problem.

Hi Sean thanks for the link and pm they do look awesome but way out off my price range

I've got some frames now which are more usable than i first thought a double cab back seat base so nice and flat and fit perfectly. the springs are all shot to bits so will replace these will very comfortable foam.

vwsplitvan is going to trim the seat for me, so it all seems to be coming together quite nicely now :)

Hi Simon, glad to help.
You can get springs made, if you have any of the OG ones left a spring company will remake them. I did some research on this when I was thinking of restoring my OG seat base, but went for the repop. I should still have the spring companies details who I was going to get prices from, if you want them. My OG seat now hangs from the garage rafters to be restored at a later date.

See you guys in a few weeks at the barndoor campout 2.

Sean.

Hi Sean

Yeah if you have the details for the spring companies to hand that would be an avenue to explore - thanks

Should see you there buddy
