I am shipping my 76 Westy to Europe for camping. What is the best way to deal with the electricity at campsites? A step-down transformer makes sense but it have to sit outside and I haven't found an outdoor transformer. Or, would you change the plug on the WEsty? If so, would the 12 gauge Romex inside the Westy be compatible with EU power?

i'd think you could install your 220/110 volt transformer under the bus?

where are you going to be camping, all over europe? are you aware of what they charge for electricity on campsites these days?

I had the reverse problem,
A french van in the US for ten weeks.
As I had a big deep discharge battery, I managed without electricity.

As you ship your van, you will stay a while (drop by home)
A step down transformer is a disposabe solution, no use afterwaed.
What about a clever 110/240V battery charger? You can use it later.
What about solar panels?
It's an investment, but at 3€ a day for a 6 amp plug .......

Another issue was butane?????
