Ok i want to get rid of my BRMs and get a set of porsche rims.
Will 16 in. work on a 59 bus? Or 17in. ?
I see a ton of 14s for sale but not to many 15s why?
The brm's i have now are 15 so that would save me $$ on tires
but 16s sounds fun to.
Any info. is good

| Hey dave, I myself have a 59 swivel on alloys. I have the 4 1/2 and 5 1/2 X 15's on it. I have plenty of clearance to go 16 or 17. As to the size of the 15's, I wouldn't run the 4 1/2 in the front. They look the best but when you put low profile tires on them the tire is usually bigger than the rim. 195 45 15 tires are made for at least a 5 1/2 rim. 5 1/2 and 6's in the back would be a perfect fit for a bus. If you go 4 1/2 the only tires that will fit right are those real expensive ones from CSP. I myself think that 15 are hard to find because everyone wants them. If you go bigger rims, try the tirerack for tires. I bought my 195 45 15's for $35 a piece, brand new. Another thing about the alloys is you can run discs alot easier. I have 944 discs front and back, they stop so much better than drum. Hope this helps. |
