I need to know if the 76 bus engine and trans are compaitable with a 60 standard. It is a rib trans and the engine only has a few hundred on it. The bus is wrecked and the dude needs the parts gone. What do you all think worth it for 600 bucks?

| certainly not a bolt in. people do it though. i'd pass, unless you want to do some heavy modifying. |

| With enough ingenuity, you'd be able to put any engine in there, but like jw says, it's not just a bolt in job you can do in an hour. 600 for agood engine is a good deal though, and you can always get the wrecked bus cheap, and find another cheapo that needs an engine, presto decent bus for a little cash and some wrenching on your part. | I wouldn't do that to a 60. spend the 600 on the proper drivetrain for the bus, or buy a $100 late model shell to put the $600 parts in. |

I got a 1641 w/single port and single carb, running, complete w/heater boxes and header/muffler (tuck under). It also has alternator kit installed. It came in the bus when I bought it but I am having a high performance 1915 built as I type. I need to put a battery in it to do compression check. If it has decent compression on all 4, would you be interested in it? It brought me over the cascade mountain range when I drove it home and I was going 60-65 up hills.
I was thinking about $600 as it is complete and ready for install. I would have to pull it out is all. I am in Oregon but could crate and ship for another $150.00 (guess). I haven't even thought about listing in classifieds yet as I have been too busy. I thought you may be interested in it.

Oops,
Meant to type $500.00 for the 1641. Miles unknown. P.O. estimated at 30-45K based on time it has been in the bus. Speedo disconnected.
