Hi Everyone, My 1981 gas Rabbit truck was running great, stopped at a store came out and it would not start. I have tested the pump with a jumper wire and it clicks once seems like it's stuck?? should I hear it spin when it is powered up??

history of the truck

one owner 191,000 miles
new fuel filter, radiator hoses, thermastat, vacuum lines
even 167 compression in all cylinders
Thanks, John

I was going through fuel pumps like crazy on my old Rabbit S back in the 90's and it turned out that a rubber hose in the tank had deteriorated and the pieces were jamming up the pump. Once I figured out the problem I tried reversing the wires (off the car using a battery) and most of them spit out the rubber chunks and worked fine afterwards. It might not be the problem but I'd give it a try. My pump would do the same thing and blow the fuse.

The Line inside is still intact, so I will leave it alone. I guess I need a fuel pump.
