| I'm getting ready to have my 1960 standard microbus dropped via a 1968 bug tranny/rear spring plates and bus boys adjusters up front. I'm looking to drop the bus 3 and 1/2" to 4 inches. Will the tires I have rub? I'm running 195/65 15's up front and 205/60 15 out back. Thanks for the info. |

| No they will not. That's the exact same setup I have on my 67. |

I just did a straight axle kit on my single cab and I could not fit anything wider than a 185/60 14 on the back... and that was with a 4 to 5 lug adapter as a spacer I could see maybe getting a 195 but I cant see how a 205 would not rub the spring plate.
Unless you are not running stock wheels.
Then the offset is different and forget what I just said. |

| Your wheels will rub up front when you hit a bump, 145 did with dropped spindles on my bus. |

| I'm running the original VW wide 5 lug 15" wheels. I was planning on having the snout of the 5 lug hub machined off to keep it 5 lug (i'm just a little paranoid about running an adapter) Someone once told me about some spacers he was running on his bus for this set-up? Anybody know about that??? Thanks |

Andrew
Youwill need an adapter or a spacer and 185 tires. If you dont your tires will rub the spring plate.
I am no expert but I just did this so its fresh in my mind.
If you need help drop me an email. |
