| OK ...I know you are out there restorers!!! I have a 66 that I am stripping but i cannot get any of the door hinges pins out including the drivers side 'lower' pins...help.. |

| What I do is take the door of the bus. Go to the vise and open the jaws just so it clears the top of the pin. Lay your door up on it upside down. Use some heat. And smack the back of the pin with A drift punch. I hold the punch with A vise grip. Takes two people! Big hammer and A solid blow. Heat the hinge,and not the pin. |

| My Bus came with "elephant ear" mirrors and I wanted to use the smaller round versions. So I used an impact hammer to remove the hinge pics. Came out no problem |

| If you have a VW shop around with a older mechanic thats been doing VW for years you might find he has the tool to remove hing pins. It is like a molded C clamp, fits around the hing and pushes the pin out with a hardened bolt that fits into the hing. If not the impact hammer works for me. Especialy if you are at the begining of the resto. |
