I've noticed the black rubber/plastic seal on some busses' bumpers. The ones that go between the bumper guard and the blade and the seal between the overider and the bumper guard. Did VW make these as an aftermarket item or are these a 'new' add on for restorers? Also, it looks like if your bumper isn't real straight, these things would slip off?
What do you think?

| Bottom line, those things are cheez-whiz. They were never put on by VW. I understand the thought and the intentions are good but they just don't belong. Just be patient and wait till your bumpers are COMPLETELY dry before you assemble them. You shouldn't have any problems with the paint breaking then. |
