Has the artist used a bit of creativity or were deluxes ever avaliable with sealing wax red wheels.

| I have never seen red wheels. However, it wouldnt surprise me if the 51 deluxes with white roofs had two tone wheels (red/brown). They had two tone bumpers. I saw some old pics at the last OCTO of an original paint 51 deluxe, and it had the two tone bumpers. They guy that had those pics also had some other old factory photos that showed the two tone bumpers. I never knew that barndoor deluxes ever had two tone bumpers. That, combined with the fact that super early standards had two toned wheels, makes me think that two tone wheels on deluxes were entirely possible. I have no photos or proof to back up my theory. |

schmelling's 51 hatch deluxe has a 2-tone front bumper.
