| on all 4 of the hinges to my driver and passanger doors of my 65 bus are cracked where they are rivited to the door. can i fix them by welding or what is the best way to go. |

| get new doors is the best way. usually it's the door that cracks, and welding them will only be a temporary fix. |

Does the same solution hold true for the engine lid? Or can a hinge be fixed in that location/application.

| engine lids are easier to find than good doors, so it would be easier to just replace the lid. but they take less stress than a door, so a weld job may be fine, depending on how bad it's cracked, and how nice the repair. |

| If it's just the hinge on the rear theres some nice repo"s but if the lid is stress cracked at the hinge points it takes a careful weld and grind to make it mate up. almost every lid I looked for 2 years was worse than mine so I had too... |
