on all 4 of the hinges to my driver and passanger doors of my 65 bus are cracked where they are rivited to the door. can i fix them by welding or what is the best way to go.

get new doors is the best way. usually it's the door that cracks, and welding them will only be a temporary fix.

Does the same solution hold true for the engine lid? Or can a hinge be fixed in that location/application.

engine lids are easier to find than good doors, so it would be easier to just replace the lid. but they take less stress than a door, so a weld job may be fine, depending on how bad it's cracked, and how nice the repair.

If it's just the hinge on the rear theres some nice repo"s but if the lid is stress cracked at the hinge points it takes a careful weld and grind to make it mate up. almost every lid I looked for 2 years was worse than mine so I had too...
