Can someone explain to me what a Swivel Seat is? Thanks!

It`s A front driver side seat that will turn--to the left and back-- when you pull a lever on the side--They are rare---and normally only found in early transporters--Bill

The front seat(s) swivel around. Most of them were Panels and had only 1 seat - the driver's seat. The front seat bulkhead is a bit smaller to allow for the swiveling.

They were most often seen in 1960 and 1961 Panels and a few Kombis. I have, however, seen a few 1959s with the option. I also have seen a 1962 with it but that's as far as the range goes. The '62 belongs to Bob Petzel and is pictured in the gallery. Johnny Jimenez has a cool 1959 Kombi with it, and Charlie Hammill has a 1959 Double Door Panel with the option. That Bus used to belong to "Low Rider" Mike Hodgson, god knows why he sold it...

Thanks all for the info. Anyone want to give me a ballpark figure on a 66 Kombi original Ca. bus, surface rust only (except for small cancer in nose), rockers good, no seats, (actually only seat frames avaiable) original paint, strong 1776 motor, dash cut for larger radio, plus some yahoo mounted a tach. Inside is gutted. Daily driver. Not sure what the value is, want to offer reasonable but not too much. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
