Good spelling and "English comprehension" are two different categories....
I like to use edit mode and spell check so I don't look quite such a bad speller and lazy or fat fingered when typing... BUT it does not always work....

It's as good as many other programmable engine management computers. Some people will argue until they are blue in the face about how certain features of specific EFI computers are better than others. The bottom line is, the Redline kit (Pantera EFI 882c ECU) is only as good as you are able to tune it (as is Electromotive, Haltech, AEM, MegaSquirt, etc). You will either need to overcome the learning curve and tune it yourself, or pay somebody who is experienced with the ECU for the time to tune it. The ECU's creater, Lance Nist, occasionally frequents the Shoptalkforums.com and can provide technical help and advice. The Lauffer's (VW Paradise) sells this kit and can tune it as well. |

Well, I did it. I went for the new CB Magna EFI setup with crank fire and an IAC valve. I also went dual throttle bodies for control, possible duration problems and space...I wanted the inboard injectors.
I have a good feeling about all this.... |

Cool!
Are you using CBs throttle bodies?

I have their high end 882C on my baja bug (crank triggered, sequential injected, coil near plug. I love all the features. I'm just getting started dialing it in since my cam went flat right when I got it running.. |

Well it got here last night...be ready for masses of foam peanuts.....
Its a very thorough looking kit. It will be a little while before I get to installing it though. I just got this car on the road after waiting for a tranny and I've got a few things in front of this particular step.....retracting steps, refrigerator (not ice box), restore poptop section, and mudflaps. Basically parts I got recently and got too lazy to install. This is all going on a 1967 Riviera camper BTW. I'll detail the install as it goes I think. Fair warning, it will probably be Iphone photos, I don't think I'll feel like whipping out the Canon for the work. |

Hey if you are going quality EFI why not quality pictures.... Cell phone pictures suck, and then everybody uses them anyway then later apologizes for them.....

Well...it's in and driving.
I am impressed. It started on the first turn of the key and didn't take any throttle play to get it to idle. It fought through dEflated litters and all. It needs a little tweaking to get the a/f down and the timing just right, but it's running fine. No misses or anything.
I took pics and notes the whole way and will be adding a write up here shortly. |

The major fault I have found with inboard injectors (I run them) is the wall wetting because they spray directly onto the intake wall.
this becomes especially evident with the amount of 'gunk' built up on the interior wall of the intake port opposite the injector when it comes time for a refresh on the motor each year.
When time/money permits, i'll be modifying intakes to put my injectors outboard spraying down the intake tract. |

I am sure you are going to be shocked with the results.
Bump, did you complete your testing Pat? |

Probably not. They've been so busy helping me with evey little question I had.
Tonight is experimenting with basic tuning and adjusting he timing offset and dialing the idle/iac in.
I will post my build log of the whole thing tonight also. |

| If I could afford it, I would love to go EFI... some guys are old school carb guys and that's the only reason they won't change; but if I had the means, I would love to go the route of not having to dick around with jetting BS and fine tuning that carbs require depending on elevation, etc. |

I will post my build log of the whole thing tonight also. You need to give me a call at CB. We just finished a new software release with a really nice tunning aid. We added a tracer option in the fuel map. The tracer will populate each cell it runs through with a color based on air fuel ratio. There is a color/A-f chart to go by. After you drive the car for 5-10 minutes, you populate the fuel map with the different a/f ratios. This makes it really simple to go in and adjust the fuel map. Once you adjust the map, you clear the trace and drive the car again. I had cells in the fuel map 20 percent off, after adjusting the map and clearing the trace 3 times, I had it within 4 percent. This was all in about 30 minutes time. |
