I was under my bus (66 w/12 volt conversion) and looking at the starter. There is a wire that appears to be soldered or otherwise affixed to the underside of the body (below gas tank) very close to the starter. I didn't see this on the diagram. I can see what harness it goes into but I haven't a clue where the other end is attached to. Is this stock or have a reason to belong here. The plastic insulation is red on this wire.

Well, it certainly is grounded. But does a ground wire belong there?

| There isn't a wire there normally, and if the harness is original and this wire goes into it, and is colored red, it should be live! It hasn't welded itself on has it? Otherwise, can't help. |

I think I will disconnect and try to trace it back.
