i will be in LA for x mass. and was wondering if there are any good scrap yards to hunt through. im mainly a split bus kind of guy. so im not really interested in a bug grave yard.let me know,

| Yeah, there is... it's called the Pomona Swap Meet. EVERYTHING in California has been picked over with a very fine tooth comb and finding great deals is pretty much a thing of the past. You either have to source the stuff out directly yourself (rare any more) or just hit Pomona and VW shows to find anything worthwhile. If you do find a VW junkyard in CA they know what they have and aren't giving any deals. As negative as my outlook may sound, I still wish you luck! |

| BUCOBTSTI called that one to a "T". Check the Recycler too. Once in a blue moon you can find deal there. Vet's stadium hot rod swap can be surprise at times. Basically a hot rod swap but I have pulled a few good deals out of there on VW stuff. One example was a 1600sp w/ new heads (never had been fired w/ those heads) for 75 bucks. A set of rings, hone the barrels and a little port job and it ran like a dream. And all for less than $100.00 |
