nope, not I-10
that's far too dangerous for us, we are cruising at 55mph, slow roads for us
even the slow road the semi's are so close sometimes i can't see their headlamps

:(

I'm asking if you took the Gulf road right along the edge of the land. From Pensacola thru Mississippi. The place with all the moving white sand dunes (they use bulldozer to keep it clean) and all the outrages (SSSS) homes built on stilts. I found it a very sirile and alien experience. Oh well it sounds like you didn't or you would have taken pics for sure. :(

sorry daizee,
yes we did take that route, no time for stopping to take pictures, it was a road that i did not feel safe on
people throwing bottles out into the street, driving like lunatics

we kept moving :(

some funky houses for sure :D

Timing! When I went on it, nobody, nothing, I felt I was out in a wilderness and sometimes you couldn't see the road edges. It was a thrill!

:bay_blue: Ha guys , saw you were looking at Moab, you need to come down may,10,11,12,13, thats the big one syncro solstice ! We have a lot of room for a 2 wd, you can ride with lot's of us! I will be by myself, lot's of room! :D

DAIZEE Sat Apr 28, 2012 9:15 pm

Guess it depends where they are (haven't heard lately their location) and if they can get there. Having no concept of the geography they could pretty well hang out at many Syncro events out West. I wanna hear those stories for sure

rubbachicken Sat Apr 28, 2012 9:55 pm

right now we are in santa fe, i think heading towards denver
moab might well be on the cards, if we can get there, we have a lot of hills to get up before we get there

Don't bypass Moab!

rubbachicken Mon Apr 30, 2012 5:46 pm

from the Texas classic show, we headed to carlsebad caverns NM, they were orsum

there were some weird looking guides there :D

from there we headed up to roswel NM, what a town that was ;)

we found some other ailiens

then we headed north to santa fe, lucy did not like the altitude, and the heat, so we trundled slowly
we made it to santa fe, after a bit of useful advice i adjusted lucy's timing, now she has a bit more go, and can climb the mountains :D

it was beautiful there, it didn't feel like a town, let alone a city of 200,000 +

we stayed there for a few days, then lucy decided she wanted to see if she could make it up into the rocky's :D
we're happy to report that she did very well
i added a sign on the back window to let people know lucy's a speed machine ;)

then we set off on the climb to denver CO

even pushing hard up the interstate into the mountains she managed 23.44 mpg

this is where we have been so far :D

Sounds like things are going well now.

In our '71 bus we had a bumper sticker that said 'I'm pedaling as fast as I can'. It was not unusual for us to be on the shoulder in second gear at 20 mph going over the continental divide. :D

DAIZEE Mon Apr 30, 2012 6:34 pm

Oh wow, doesn't seem that long. Hope you are enjoying the diversity of USA geography and people.
