I need to replace the bed on my 1961 Double Cab.
has anyone done this before? Where is the best source for the Bed material? It is a driver, but I would like to keep it fairly original looking. Thanks |

You should check out the dropgates.com web site. I have read some good bed replacement info on that site. I have also emailed the Webmaster there a couple times and he is completely cool and knowledgeable. The site is dedicated to VW "trucks" of all persuasions and is loaded with cool truck-specific restoration info.
(I don't represent the dropgates.com site in any way.)

http://www.wolfgangint.com/ they might carry these bed panels
http://www.vwispwest.com/2.html < These guys have them , but they aren't listed on their site. Email them for details. I think around $550 . The bed panels are designed for single cabs, but can be modified to fit doubles. They are ribbed panels like the originals....look good and provide the same structural strength. |
