I posted an earlier thread about not being able to get the Gene Berg oil temp dip stick into my dip stick hole and it seems that my dip stick was drilled out in an angle that even makes getting the dip stick out kind of difficult. It is angled up instead of out towards the rear of the bus. I understand that there is another type of oil temperature unit available that uses the oil pressure light. I believe that it would have to be connected through a hole in the block and then work on the same principle as the Gene Berg. Has anyone heard of it?
Thanks,

It may not be that it was drilled out wrong... just that the upper portion sticking out of the case is bent that way... that is why it is hard to get even the stock dipstick in and out...
Get a medium to long Philipps screwdriver that fits in the tube near perfect..or a long punch or other stiff metal rod and insert it in the tube and try straightening the tube out some....
you can also get another tube, beleive it or not they do come out and can be changed... but it can be a bitch... however not impossible.... good luck |
