I am wanting to replace the original transmission in my 66 d/cab so as to get better cruising speeds on the freeways. I currently have a 1600 dp and will upgrade to a 1776 when time comes. If I change to a freeway flyer transmission should I still run the reduction boxes or what is the best way to go.My reduction boxes need a bit of work so should I just eliminate them?? My d/c is currently lowered slightly and I am thinking of raising it to stock height as the same time.
thanks!! |

I'd suggest going with a freeway flyer and reduxtion boxes. It's probably cheapest, and requires the least modification. If you want to keep stock height, but without reduxtion boxes, then you might run into problems. I don't know how you would do that without using a pair of extreme angle CV's(I think that's what they're called, and I've heard they aren't the longest lasting solution you'll find). Good luck.
