hello..
i just got a new 1776 engine for my 67 bus and put dual kadrons on it..now when i turn the engine off it continues to run for a few seconds..it does not do it every time but most..is this bad??what can i do to fix it? is it better to have the single carb so you get the choke and auto cut off??how much extra power do u really get from having 2 carbs?
thank you

Well, up to you if you wanna keep the dual carbs, they give you much more power, couldn't tell you exactly how much, but enough to notice for sure and going uphill is a little beefier, but I personally like the stock single carb due to the simple adjustments and easier tuning (unless you are a expert on kad's). Don't know how to keep the engine from running on (dieseling) with the dual k's, but maybe your timing is advanced or retarded to far a causing the "dieseling". Good Luck.

when you are driving around, the engine tends to heat unevenly. a 1776 will run a bit hotter in that a more stock motor. before you shut it down, let it idle for a minute or so. this will balance off the engine heat. dieseling will stop. i don't know why this is other than "it is"

an idle higher than 900 or so will cause run on, as well as to far advanced timing. the single solex on some models had an electric idle cutoff jet and/or an electric idle air cutoff for this reason.

be sure your running the highest octane gas helps too....
