I have a 66 d/cab that has been lowered (torsion bars removed - ouch!!) To repair this do I need to find a complete front end or can I just get the parts individually that i need. I ask this because I see a complete front beam,

brakes to brakes on the general parts classifieds.

sorry about the 3 postings but my 1 year old daughter hit the send button 3 times before I could stop her!!!

it would be easier to get a beam than to find torsion leaves laying around. then just pirate the parts you need. beams are usually pretty cheap.

the torsion bars in the beam on a 66 are 66-67 only. the earlies ones won't work with that beam. if the rest of the beam is OK, I would just replace the torsion bars. inspect everything closely because lowered buses tend to have a rough ride and things tend to get hammered. kudos to you for bringing it back up to the proper ride height.

I'm going to have to diagree with Lind's statement about the torsion bars being '66-'67 only.
As far as I know the bars are the same from '55 on up to '7?.
I've swapped them many times with no problems.
If you just need the bars call Wolfgangs and talk to Steve, they sell complete sets.

Here's what you need. A complete set of bars. For $30 you can't go wrong. I just did the later beam with spindles for this guy and now he is selling all the "extra" parts.
