Hello, I have a 61 bus for sale and have had no response to speak of. It is a great bus but needs a motor. Is the price too high?Take a peek in the classifieds. It is the 61 Sundial in Salt lake City. Thanks for the help.

A good rule of thumb is.....if you needed fast cash for an emergency, what would you part with it for? You are asking a large group of people who are constantly being blown away by what people ask for type 2s these days, what to ask for your car. Risky business. How about $500.00?

I have not seen your bus so I can't say either way. Pop a link on here and I will tell you what I would be willing to pay for it as a one person opinion. I am not looking for another bus as I love mine, but I can say what I would be willing to pay for it. I know some people, like me, are flat broke and can't afford a lot.

Wow!! Is that Sealing Wax Red? Dig the color,
but with a blown engine,,,rusty roof,,,and missing camper interior,it would be a hard sell at your asking price.To me it would be under a G at 7 or 8, but that's me. Calif. plates when was it registered last?

I think $2500 is a bit high for the bus. it's got rust, an incomplete interior, and a blown motor. I wouldn't list a motor with a big hole in the case as running. I also wouldn't buy it for more than 7 hundred. I could see someone else paying as much as $1500, but not me. I wouldn't pay the $2500 running and driving. Original paint in a cool color is what it has going for it, and to me thats about it. I'm not a big panel camper fan though.

Uh ya, I don't think 2500 for it. How bad is that roof? If it is good, get some sand paper and take off that run...or maybe a wire brush and put some primer on it. Ya, maybe I am just a backyarder, but something to stop the rust from continuing is what I say. LPS has a product out there, no I am not a salemen, I just happen to have some I got at ACE. It's called Cold Galvanize corrosion inhibitor. Not Por-15, this is like a primer but it works. Use something to stop some of the rust. Have it look like work is being done on it. You know, some effort to stop it. Unless of course it needs a new roof, then I don't know what to say.

Price wise, I could see if going for 1500, but I would stray closer to 1k.

slcdogtown;
Sorry, but the rust I'm seeing on the doglegs, roof, and rocker panels make this bus a no-go for anyone but a strip and weld shop. The expense of replacement panels, welding, and finishing make this bus worth next to nothing.
Not that it isn't worth rebuilding, just that the cost of the rebuild will constitute the future value of the bus.
I say a token $400 plus towing costs.

Yo dude...I'd hold out...Perhaps you could get a Grand...Fix that engine, and you'll get that in No time...trust me, people pay for buses like mad out here in the midwest...Not sure, I know y'all scrap buses we would love in a second...just cause they are getting slightly rusty... Body work isn't THAT hard...Y'all make it sound like it's crazy hard, and it's not...It's all about who ya know, or what ya know. Keep it real.
