So I've been struggling with something for a while. My girlfriend, of which we are in a serious relationship, is a stage actress. This past weekend was my first time seeing her perform. Luckily her part didn't require her to kiss anyone, but I know that some day it will have to happen. Her and I have gone back and fourth about her having to do this. I am not happy about this at all, and she keeps telling me that it means nothing and its just part of the job. I just don't know how I feel about someone else kissing my girl. I am very protective of her.

Can anyone weigh in on this? Anyone else in a similar situation?

If she's an actress, you'll have to get used to this. You need to determine if the relationship is worth more than your jealousy.

Face the fact that you're NOT 'protective of her', you're insecure and jealous... and work on correcting that, because it's never gonna benefit you at all. Besides, anyone she necks with as part of a scene on stage likely doesn't swing her way, anyways.

Don't expect her to change. It's not fair to either of you. Accept it, let it go, or move on.

Either way, brother.... you cannot get upset with dude. This is especially so if your ol' Lady is a hot one. :wink:

If you really like her…lighten up…cause she'll leave you if you get all jealous and possessive. Just play cool, let her do her job and you do yours (ie…lay the pipe like a real man).

acting is a job, I am sure that if she has to kiss someone in the course of her work it will not hold the same meaning as it would with you. kinda like a gynecologist, i'm sure some of their wives don't really care for the husbands hand being in another womans vagina all day, but it's just a job.

I have to touch males and females on their private areas on a daily basis. No time for jealous partners here. It's just business. Could you live with a Hollywood heartthrob slipping her the tongue? Could you live with the $$$$ a simple "acting" kiss could make? What's the real issue here?

There is nothing that says she has to take any part where she is required to kiss another man. If this were my girl it would be made very clear that if she did kiss another man even as a job requirement, she would be kicked to the curb. If she doesn't love you enough to respect you then she's not the girl for you.

First of all....I have to ask. How old are you? If you are confident and secure in yourself, you should never have to worry about such trivial matter. The more you squawk about it, the more she'll question your confidence and security. Don't fall into that trap...Keep it fun...Ask her if he kept his tongue to himself or if he had garlic breathe (or worse)

There are some good points being made here. Its not that I'm insecure because I know she's my girl and that she's not going anywhere. I wouldn't say its exactly jealousy either. I agree with Busryder, it is a primordial reaction. I would just feel very uneasy seeing another man kissing her. Many of you would have to agree with me. I do understand that most of the male actors have the same sexual preference as she does, but that does little, at this point, to calm my nerves. I suppose the easy answer would be not to go to shows where this may occur, but I always want to be there to support her. Its just something I never thought I'd have to deal with. Oh, and I'm 31.

Oh ya....another point. Probability has it that you really only need to worry about 5 percent of males involved in stage acting. The other 95 percent don't like what we like. Ya get my point? :shock: :lol:

I lived with a stripper back in my wild days in Dallas and she was great. Never took her home to mom just not that kind of girl but she knew how to play the players and pull the money out of there pockets. I`d be at the bar and she would kiss and work the guys to buy her dranks all night long white russians $$. But what they didn`t know the bartender kept the same drank behind the bar all night just a sip here and there but that cash added up. I never felt like a pimp but it was just fun and we both had a great time in the bar and in bed (she was Hot) and it payed the rent.
But now with that being said I never got jealous and she was a good cook but I had to move on to to a girl with a 9:00 to 5:00 job. She was just to blonde and dumb for anything long term.

Just do get jealouse or your kill everything you got going.
