we basically had to connect the wires and I only had to build a couple lil things. but it worked out to be really easy. I think I might have a spare harness.

i like how you did work on the parcel shelf.
i wish id gone custom here, as i did mine as a clip. and was way too hard.
i could have saved 50hr labor by doing what you did.
cut fit and weld is easy. (my way was to A/R)
super nice job (no pun) !

I have actually not touched the interior of the car except for a new steering column and shifter... if thats custom that was like that when I got the car.

sorry for stating the obvious. but real photos make that so easy.
i think the record here for one motor photo is like 25 fails.

if i had posted a pic of my car before i started work.... i could probly top 100 fails.... but hey everyones car has its quirks. and no need to apologize, i was actually very happy to see someone looking out for me and pointing out things that need to be fixed, and while we are on the topic, there is a gap between the tin in my car that sits against the seal(i think ive heard it called the breast plate) and the tin around the back of the pulley, any ideas on where to get a patch? or should i make one? and the heater channel holes for the tubes that are supposed to come out of the fan housing, patches? make something? any input will be read and considered!

So just wondering if you have any tips for first startup? this is not a fresh motor, I have changed valve cover gaskets, it will have fresh oil, and we will crank it over a bit before hooking up fuel so there is oil fully spread out. any other things I should look into?

Did you check the battery afterward? A good amount of cranking can drain a battery good. Also, for your first start up, make sure the engine is timed right or else it could backfire on you ( ask me how I know  ).

|
I only cranked it for about a minute, and im guessing it happened to you?

Was it a constant minute with no stops? That can really waste a good battery. And yes, it did happen to me. Sounds just like a musket being fired and makes some awesome fireworks...
