I have a 1600 single port motor; I am running into a problem. The motor came without a carb. I have tried about 4 different carbs and none of them fit. It has the small flange intake. The accelerator pump on the carb hits the generator. I have seen the adaptors for putting late model carbs, large flange on the smaller flange. How or what size carb came stock on a single port motor. I don't want to use adaptors, any ideas.

The 34 wont fit too big, the 28 will but not right. Some type of 1500 motor, uses a Solex H30/31PICT. Yes you can buy an adaptor for the 34PICT3, or at least I have seen cars with them on.

For a 1600sp, I would use a 30pict, 31pict or the new 30/31pict carb made in Brazil.

a german 30PICT1 is your best shot. they run a 1600 just fine, properly jetted. if the pump arm touches the gen/alt, use a die grinder to carve a notch in the side of it. not the arm.
