Well, it took me a while to put this together, but I promised a few of you I would document this. This is how I built my Safari Antenna for my bus: Just click on this Web Page:

Hope this helps.

The photo links don't appear to be working.
Please post if you get them fixed.

Scott,
take a look at the path to the pictures. they will show up fine on your computer only. everybody else cannot access them.

Sorry about that. I will redo it this afternoon. I've put together a lot of web pages before without this problem. Must be getting senile...

Doug,

I cut it off so it would fit into my garage. The reception is very good.

Thanks,

Scott

Had my antenna snapped off by some kids this week -- it was only a week old! Don't have safari windows but I'm gonna take my antenna base apart like Scott's and replace it with the solid rod. I'll let you know how the reception is.

I read your method and tried it out on my bus. My antenna base is black plastic and slightly different than the metal ones. I put the antenna back on the bus and it looks great but my radio didnt work. The other day while out for a drive the radio
starts playing! That was so cool! Big smile on my face! Thanks Scott!

Hella Bro,

That's what The Samba's all about...

Thanks Everett
