Alright, last night I started up my Doublecab and turned out the lights, prompting a fuse to blow. Then the Bus died, and I haven't been able to start it since. When I remove the coil wire and have someone else crank it over, it appears that I have no spark. I am stumped.
So far today, I have replaced the rotor, cap, condenser, points, and coil. And of course, the fuse that I blew.
I am still not getting any spark. Any ideas?
Thanks.

| That should say "turned on the lights" instead of "turned out." |

| But you do have power to the coil? |

| Sounds like you headlite switch went out. Most your power goes through the H.L. switch. |

Stillworks,
Thanks for the response. I don't think it's my headlight switch though because it still functions turning the lights on and off. However, now every time I do it, it blows the fuse. Or would it still do this sort of thing if the switch were screwe up?
Another thing is that I have white (8 amp) fuses all the way across the fusebox. I know this is not correct, but this is how my Bus has been since I got it and I haven't had any trouble blowing fuses until yesterday.
I hope to borrow a testlight and check if I do, in fact, have power going to the coil.
Thanks again. |

| Derek try this. Put A wire from your hot on the voltage reg. or batery to the coil (15) side. If it does start you have A short in the headlite switch or some part of it. Hope you get it going. Also you need to dig deep for about 4.00 and buy A little test lamp:) |

| Which fuse do you keep blowing? Try going to vintagebus.com and take a look at the wiring diagrams they have there. They are a humongous help. And if you keep blowing fuses, you might be grounding out some where. In my bus, my fuses box likes to come loose and sometimes it grounds out and likes to spark. |

Thanks again, guys.
According to my test light, the coil is in fact getting power. So now I am even more confused.
The fuse that keeps blowing is the third one from the right. I checked out those wiring diagrams and I think I will study them a little more. However, unless I missed something, they did not tell what amperage fuses go where. Could anyone tell me the correct setup? |

I switched the coil wire today, and still no luck. I looked around under the dash for a while as well, and didn't see anything that looked suspicious.
I still don't know what is going on, I hadn't changed anything or even worked on the Bus before the fuse blew and all my trouble started... |

| If I have some time tomorrow, I would be happy to come over and give you a hand. At the least I could do for your help. If anything, we can drink a beer and go "Yup". |
