Is there a difference between a 1963 rear view mirror and 1965-67? If so, what is it?

I believe that there was a split in the rear view mirror style. I believe that the '63 (and earlier) up to 1967 was the style that had the arm entering the back of the mirror in the upper part of the mirror where the earlier ones (I don't know the years) had it entering in the center of the back of the mirror. The arm on the '63 and up was round and the earlier one was cast into one piece up to the mount.
