I looked at this thread and started to accept that we are a dying breed. BUT, I just got my Hot VWs and their are 2 cars with dual quiet-packs. 2 more than I probably saw all of last year... Good way to start the year. They just look right, imo...

not entirely a dead breed, but this exhaust is on it's last weld repair...

Been searching for an exhaust that fit my AJ Sims merged header nicely for quite a while now. Went with a Bugpack unit. Needed some tweeking/ welding/ massaging to fit nice and tight, but it's all worth it.

Still needs some touch up paint.

Needs some long flared tips to complete the bitchin look you got going there. IMO

After the HotVws with the bitchin yellow bug and the fourtuned merge ive had a few more people than usuall inquire about where to buy one. The last one I bought from S&S but I heard they are closed down. Any other old school co's still make them????

Thats a thunderbird right there. I could spot those flared tips from 2 miles away.

I bought the ceramic dual quiet packs from scat, they sound great but one tip is pointing up and the otheris level with mufflers.

The tip on the right is level and the one on the left is slightly pointing up. If it is too much i would return them. If its slightly off I dont think anyone notices those small differences except for the owner. But I keep telling myself oneday im going to re-weld the tip to match the one on the left. I bought some ceramic Kymco merged duals awhile back and they were perfect and I painted the muffs black for the Old-school effect. They looked awesome!!!

The more I look the more I like...I really like how nicely tucked under the muffs are. Good job working them.. like, like, like

S&S Right there^^^ They are badass!!! I was always partial to Thunderbirds as a youngster mainly because of the long flare tips. I just stared at them for so long that i got fucked-up in the head...

My duals had an S&S emblem welded near the flange....like a triangle or some shit similar to what Glenn posted. The tips were also larger, they were badass.

Eventually took them off and got a piece of shit hide-away muffler, then moved on to a bugpack stinger...those were stupid loud because they were really thin.

j8bug Thu Mar 08, 2012 12:49 am

Mine did to but, that area kept breaking and the triangle got damaged in the process of all the re-welds...I did save it but I have to go dig for it someday for the sake of authenticity...
