Not a lot of progress but here is where I'm at. I'm still waiting on the trans to get built (looking for a used 1.48 3rd and 1.04 4th gear set) than I'll have the pan rolling. In the mean time I started cutting the floor out of the car.
Front (most are rusty cars)
Rear
Stuff removed! You can see some floor in there too!
Heater box, heater tube, air filter, rust....
The rear half is gone.
I'll cut out the rest of the floor tonight. As soon as my pan is rolling I'm going to remove the front suspension, motor, and trans from the renault, than more cutting, than I can start fitting the pan.
Jason
Send me a pm if the have some gears! |

Got back to cutting on the car. I started cutting and cut some more! Going to cut a little more tonight and should be done for the most part (maybe a little trimming here and there) and then I can start welding!
Made my gusset for the top half of the pan (part of the pan I cut out)
Torsion bars and spring plates. I'll be putting the trans and mounts in tonight.
Motor, trans, and suspension out!
Still had some cutting to do at this point
Removing front suspension.
My brace holding the car together
Centering the beam. (eyeball method)
Here you can see where the "more" cutting came from.
Some motivation!!
There so much to type and tell that I'm not going too! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves! I'm going to try and square it up and weld it in this weekend! Still a lot to do before than though, we'll see.

Thanks!
It has been slow, but we are down 6 techs too! I work in parts and only get to work on the car after work. I'm going as fast as I can to free up the rack, the car has only been on their the last few days. (the car wash bay is next to that bay and water leaks in at the bottom of the wall so no one ever want to use it anyway). As far as the table, it hardly gets used!
Expensive, yes!

Got a lot done last night, though it may not look like it.
Heres a bottom view of the pan in the car
Beam area still needed some triming for room
Tranny parts
And trans, mine is not done so I got this on loan form a friend who came by to lend a hand.
John came by with the trans and started helping, here he is welding in the mount after getting it fitted.
1" raise mount welded in!
Trans fitted (sorry for the dirty drums)
Ready to be set on the ground!
I really want to give a thanks to Brian here at work (shop foreman) for staying the night before and helping me get a lot done, and John for last night, we were able to get a lot done as well. I'm trying to get it rolling as fast as I can as to not keep the lift tied up!
