tore of my window tint today due to havign court tomorow for the window tint :/

took the speedo out a week ago, took the glass of, put it back in......and at idle the fuel gauge works fine, but when i drive it the fuel gauge vibrates intensly and goes from 1/2 down to 1/4. but when I stop it goes back to 1/2.........any idea why that happens?

I have power to the backup lights hooked up from the coil, and theyve never had a problem before, i disconnected it a few days ago, hooked it back up today and everyimte I put it in reverse the engine dies, but when I disconnected the wire it went in reverse fine.......short in the wire? but theres an inline fuse that shouldve blown if theres a short right?

That does sound like your backup lights are shorting somewhere. Try powering them from a different power supply. Then you willl still have to track down the short. :cry: The fuel guage sounds like it may just be a bad connection. Check all those. Hope your court goes OK. 8)

What brand is your stereo head unit? I noticed the "green" illumination... is it all backlit green? Been looking for one to compliment my LED green gauge cluster.

its a pioneer, its main color is red but it can be switched to green

thats what it looks like, idk if its the same model as to where you can switch to green, but if I think of it tomorw ill check it out for ya

welll as for what how I think my carbs arent running good and need to be rebuilt, I believe its just the metal gasket where the manifold meets the head. Ive taken the carb assemly off a few tiems since I put the new gasket in and i believe its squished flat now and has a vaccum leak. I was washing the engine today while it was running and as soon as I sprayed #3 and #4 side white smoke started coming out the exhaust

So im gonna get new gaskets and see if it runs good :P causeee it started running bad right after I took it off, put that single carb assembly on, took that off and put my dual carbs back on

for the past few days my battery's been going dead overnight :/ I just decided to find the short and took the wires off the batery, one of the 3 sparked, put it alone back on the battery, followed that one to the newer bus bar I installed a while back , took all 4 wires off and touched each wire to the terminal to find which one was shorting. Ended up being my amp :/ soo no bass for a while :[

are you using a capacitor in your amp/bass setup. my BIL used dual batteries to help this problem.

Im only using 1 10" sub, im not sucking enough juice to need a capicator or another batteryyy

well I've had 4 bnew ball joints sitting in the back of my car for about 2 months now, gonna finally put them in tomorrow, the ball joints on there were new not to long ago, but due to the broken control arm bearing, the wheel shook a lot and the ball joints on the left side are shot again :/

still havent gotten the baljoints installed, i keep putting them off and working on my boat instead :/ But i did get the wiring finished for my winch, took me forever to find an inline fuse that was what I was looking for. now i jsut need to weld on a strong bracket to mount the winch, im going overkill when i make the bracket, I wanna be able to hang the car from the front bumper >:] lol!

finally got the ball joints put in today :P steerings a little tight now, probably because they're new and need to be broke in?

havent messed with the VW in a while, havent drove it much either, startign to play around with it some more again, been workin on hooking up a winch i was given, got all the electrical done a while back, but the other day a guy said hed spray my bumpers with bedlinner for free if i changed the tires out on his daughters car. so I gotta rig up a mount befor he sprays.

tomorow im gonna bolt it to the pipe and weld it as well for extra strength. Ill post more pictures once its done

well I got the mount finsihed and welded it in, contemplating bolting it to the bumper for extra stregth, dont know how well my weld will hold. but im taking the bumpers off tomorow and taking them to get sprayed, so ill be putting the winch on after that. I cant wait to see what they look liek ocne its done.

well i got my bumpers back the other day, put the front one on an did the final touches to the winchh. heres some pictures
