i'm not sure what your local junkyard situation is, but if you have a pull-n-slave maybe you could go check out what is there.

sometimes i see the SVX's in there too.

most ej22's i see in the yard have over 300k on em, good little motors.

The only problem with the local Syards that I see is exactly that. The local scrappers have all high milage engines while all the <30,000 mile stuff comes from Japan.

If anybody's interested, I'll be putting my 2.5l '98 Outback up for sale before the end of the month....... 8)

I would be but even if you sold it to me for a 100 bucks it would get way spendy getting it home to ridgefield wash

I have an 2006 EJ25 N/A with only 600 miles on it. I have it hooked to a Porsche 915 tranny. I'll probably be getting the stinger ECU and wiring as it is probably less of a headache to work with.

The solution is quite simple - do as I did & speak with the local Subaru shops & insurance companies... I bought a 'totaled' Legacy for my swap - heavy rear-end damage & side damage, no front or engine damage. Pulled the necessary wiring & engine bits - then scrapped remainder - my car had 88k miles & ran perfectly.

Other option is to source similar vintage engine from a yard car to match sourced wiring harness from wrecked car.

Good luck in whichever route you go -

Correct on the JDM motors being low-mileage, as how much driving can you realistically do in Japan? Strict vehicle laws in Japan & the push to sell more new cars ensure that the Japanese remove these cars/powertrains from domestic market & push them out for sale to other countries.
