View original topic: Question comparing 2 Liter (Litre) repops

Kustom1Warehouse http://www.kustom1warehouse.net/2_liter_alloy_wheels_for_VW_Volkswagen_Bug_p/2literalloyempi.htm lists their version of these wheels as Empi with a 4 9/16 backspacing.
whereas
CIP1 http://www.cip1.ca/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=C13%2D9681 lists their version of these as Empi with 3.7" backspacing -
which is to be believed?
What I've read from utilizing the search function is that the American Eagle version of the 2Liter Porsche repops had the 4 9/16" backspacing - -
Am looking at running these on 74 super with dropped front (accompanied by the topline tapered sport springs) - want to tuck the front in under the fenders a bit more.
Thoughts on Kustom1 vs. CIP1 versions of the 2ltr wheels?
Thanks,
Rev.

to my knowledge NONE of the repops are the correct offset as compared to og's. i think most of the repops are et25 or et30.

i also have never seen a set of repops that i think look as good as og's.

you could probably find a pretty nice og set for the sameish money as the repops. maybe even look for a set that need polishing and shoot 'em to one of the good polishers for a makeover...ken....

and given those 2 suppliers i would order from kustom1 WAY before cip1. kustom1 actually can answer questions honestly about their product when called. many people have been given incorrect answers by cip1 lately. funny cip wants to charge for the center caps that empi ships for free with the wheels.

i ordered the sprints on my square from kustom1 and got EXCELLENT service. ordered thursday afternoon. they arrived the following tuesday morning(ca to nc)...ken....
