Hi! I wanted to introduce myself as half the Foolswagen team. Each year my husband and I participate in a street rally known as BABE. Every year we resurrect an old VW that has been sitting in a field for years. (We can spend no more than $500 for our cars). We then take them from Staten Island, NY to New Orleans, LA in 5 days. There mare many competitions along the way and we could always use advice, help, and sometimes parts from the people that we meet. Sounds freakin awesome, do you guys usually just buy the car out of your own pocket or what? Is it possible to maybe get some sponsors or something?

We do buy the cars out of our own pocket as do most of the teams. I am not really sure about sponsorship, but there is a forum and would post the question there. http://forum.streetsafari.com/viewforum.php?f=101

We have a lot of fun on the trip and encourage others to learn about it. We have met great people and look forward to it every year. It is officially one month from BABE 2012! Look for a a new update later tonight.

We are now starting to think about the future of the Ghia after BABE and are thinking about an Ebay auction ending at the same tiem the event ends in NOLA.

15 days left until we head out for BABE! Engine is finally in and after picking up a starter it turns over! Hope to have it running sat morning and then brakes, electrical and everything else!

We are also working on using our exposure from the rally to raise money for charity. Expect an announcement any day on that!

BABE Rally 2012 is complete and once again Foolswagen took home first place in a Volkswagen. I hope to have the website updated in the next few days.
