Just for the record, I got all 5 wheels this way. I wanted the spare to match also. The hoods going to be open a lot, gassing her up and such. Don't wont no slackers making fun of a stock spare. |

| I just couldnt stand by and do nothing for 4 months so I retrieved my compressor and the fenders etc and started working on striping them. After removing the tail lights and other parts I found the original paint. Love it. Now I can have the paint store match it. Other interesting finds, the engine lid has been replaced. It was OG blue under that green and the US tail lights came of a Turkish green car. What's next. |

Long block is pretty much done, still have to set the end play and do some small odds and ends but nice to have it together atleast. |

Not a super amount of work to report. I did get the the long block 100% this weekend set end play, rockers, dist drive gear and fuel pump. So thats one less thing to worry with, and on a side not it was nice to have the right tools. Torque miester is a life saver, dist drive gear puller was nice and finally got to use the OE rear main seal installer.
Dad has been stripping the fenders to start hammering on them to get the straight again, there were pinholes covered in bondo. Oh yeah and dents they never hammered out before painting the car baby poop green. He did find something pretty sweet though finally a trace of the factory paint.
So looks like we have something to take to the paint shop for them to color match. :D |

Nothing epic going on right now but did pick these up. Trade a set of late pop outs for them
Got some more done on the engine as well.
Spent what seemed like forever drilling out and tapping a exhuast stud.

It took some time I started off checking it all make sure it was good. Then I got a razor blade and spent what seemed like forever cleaning the paint off the plate the I cleaned the body with the razor blade to get all of the build up from it. Sanded it by hand and used final clean to get all the residue off it.
I put tape over the plate and used a exacto knife to trim around it. Made sure it was on there well then sprayed it with paint. Let it dry the pealed off the tape it's not perfect but turned out better than I thought it would.
The vacuume advanced was bad off so just did the same thing and painted it.
Took a decent amount of time sitting on the floor watching tv while cleaning away. |

Well finished with the J tubes that come from WWW. Turned out. Ice also got the othe items in only thing I lack now is getting the generator back and finish putting it together. The I need to build a jig to hold starter on the stand so I can crank it up on the engine stand.

| Looks like the last thing i need now is the generator, the reman one dad got of a old shelf for next to nothing was no good the brushes were frozen. So dug through my stash and brought 4 used ones that I had laying around to get checked at our local reman shop. Maybe we can get a few good ones out of the group. Think I'm going to start working on the jig for the starter either tonight or this weekend. :D |

There are a few small things to do still need to build my starter jig and fire it up. Allthough the engine is oiled up and ready to go. 8) 36hp engines look so nice. |
