Short middle seat (2-person). Plastic grab handles w/chrome ends.

There is avery small chance you could have a full-length (3-person) middle seat but you can check the floor mounts to determine that.

Good luck, the short seat for that year is a tough one to find.

I have a 2/3 middle seat , I think it's a 65-66 going by the salt @pepper type materal ( 64-67 ?). I was going to put it in my 62-23, but found the proper full seat- Except for the chrome ends. I paid $500 for the full seat- whats the 2/3 worth to someone ? no pics- its nice, split at the seam very top (8in. ) nice grab handles , arm-rest ect . I'm in the midwest - 52046

HOLY @#$$ I didn't think that a seat would cost that much! Maybe I should just get a bay window one instead......

That price is for two seats remember.

They don't come cheap. In the past 6 months, I've picked up restorable rear seats
($180+$60 freight) and middle seats (2/3@$350), the rear from a dealer here on the Samba and a middle from a dealer in my town. If you're not concerned with an exact restoration, I've seen middle bay seats for $10...will require some minor modifications as the mounts are differently spaced.

I checked my bus and it calls for a full seat. Or do all buses have the seat mount for a middle full seat located where it is?

do you have more than two mount points? mines a full bench but has only the two outter most mounts.

j.pickens,
I have a '64 2/3 middle for sale. Its como green and its missing the armrest (the entire thing). If you're anywhere close to Tulsa let me know, I'm not interested in shipping it. email at: rarebus@yahoo.com

Sorry, I'm in New Jersey.
But I can be pretty resourceful.
Tell me about the seat. What condition are the grab handles in? How are the frame/springs?
Was the armrest cut off?
Feel free to email me.
Let me know.
Thanks,
John

in at leat '59-'64 the middle seat is not at all dependent on whether the bus is a walk through or bench seat. it is all about the model number. on deluxe buses from at least '59 model 241 has a full width middle seat (8 seater) and model 251 has a 2/3 middle seat (7 seater). either model could come in walk through or bench front seats. I have seen and confirmed all variations in those years. in the later years (65ish-67) all of the 241s seem to have bench fronts, and all of the 251 seem to have walk through. from at least 59, on standard microbuses, the model numbers were 221 for 8 seater and 281 for 7 seater.

I made an offer, but not high enough.
I need detailed photos if I am to go higher.

I don't know what my seat came from. I just purchased a 1964 bus at an auction, has the center seat, no chrome, it seats 3 and the person nearest the door has a folding back. This seat is looking for a good home.
