I bought a 62 kombi today. The m-code plate reads fairly normal; until the last line which reads: UB 221 MGR PW vinvin.
anyone have any clue of what this means? |

| that would be the paint combination. I have never seen that specific paint code in the many hundreds of paint plates that I have seen. what color was the bus originally? |

| thats a good question. on one of the front doors you can tell that it was grey on bottom, and white on top. I got to thinking that it might be mouse grey, and pearl white; but what would the r mean? |

Lind is right about the paint code--most of the Buses sold in europe, not for export, had color code in abbreviated names instead of numbers. yours was made for export but they used names instead of #s.
UB= imported to USA Baltimore or Boston
221= Microbus Loading doors right-(LHD)-left hand drive
MGR= Mouse Gray (L325/43) Lower--M=Mouse GR=Gray
PW= Pearl White (L87/13) Upper
Hope this helps---Bill |
