I am now debating about buying a 64 sundial. It has the usual rust but not bad. Engine is out and apart. Guy at salvage yard is including a new case and two other engines for parts plus a bug muffler.
He wants 1500.
The interior is missing the cabinets and the jump seat but has some stuff left. It is not a walkthrough.
Body has not been hit anywhere. Rocker channnels are decent.
I will have to blast a lot of surface rust. it has been sitting in a garag since 87.
Do you think the price is too high?
I do but I mmay still buy it.
I have a 64 bug as a donor with a nice engine and trans etc.
I assume it will work.
I have to come through with the money on Monday.

I just bought my 65 sundial for $800. It is pretty rust free, but one of the corners is dinged up

I am missing most of the sundial stuff, and the windows have been changed to westy windows. Also, From my research, most sundials were panels with a bench, mine is actually an early '66 (m-code tag) Kombi with a walkthrough, they must have run out of panels in late 65, and ordered up what they could get.
Anyways, I placed an ad for some sundial camper stuff, and got this
