We are currently trying to work on a 66 VW Bus.The clutch pedal sticks (Badly) we have replaced the cable and with the cable detached the pedal was still having trouble moving we have came to the conclusion that the problem is in the arm that the pedal shaft s attached to. We tried to take it off to grease it up but it seems to be welded on so that we cant get to take it off. I dont know what it is called but I think we need to replace it. Not even the shop manual says anything about what it is or how to fix it. Has anyone else had this problem and If so how did you overcome? Where can I get this part? Thanks for all your help ,

The clutch pedal attaches to the "clutch pedal lever" with a small bolt, nut and washer. If you remove that bolt (very easy to do so) and the "clutch pedal lever" is still hard to move, then it could be the bushing (bearing) which is on the driver's side of the mount that the shaft of the "clutch pedal lever" passes through. The "clutch pedal lever" is attached by a lock washer and nut on the passenger side of the mount, which is where the clutch cable lever is attached. This is the lever that you attach the cable to. You should be able to identify the reason for the binding pretty easily, since all is in view with the pedal cover removed. Where is the weld you are talking about?
