Just received two in the mail last night. One will go in the toy room and the other will be build one day. I had a hard time taking the plastic off the one . It was like a Willy Wonka chocolate bar,I was looking for the golden ticket  and then there it was the golden ticket but in white and needed to be assembled.
I thought it would have been bigger but 1/25th of something small to begin with is small. :P

Hey - has anyone found one of these? I saw this posted on one of the Manx models for sale on ebay.

RARE - AMT Meyers "Manx" Dune Buggy Model Kit - 1 IN EVERY 12 ARE METALLIC RED

He included photos in the ad and sure enough, it's metal flake red. I guess I should open mine and see what color it is.

I opened up one of my new reissued Manx models today. Inside I found an ugly red metalic red kit. I sure hope that the paint goes on well enough to hide all of the ugly metalflake spots. Huge chunks of flake will look like a Bass Boat when completed

AMT claims that these red ones have added collector value. About 8% of the kits are metallic red. After comparing the opened red kit with other that are still sealed, I can find no indication on the box that designates a difference. You have to love all this marketing BS.

Put the metallic red one on ebay and buy another. One of the red ones just sold on ebay for $61.00

I'll trade you my unopened mystery color Manx for your red metalflake Manx that matches my full size Manx.

Painting the red metalflake version of the AMT Meyers Manx model would be like having a gold medal bronzed.

This is pretty cool. I just found a listing on eBay for an original AMT Tow'd model car kit. I don't recall seeing that as a kid. It isn't cheap. Bidding is already at $51.00

I got one of those as well...

Wondering if I should order another kit and keep this one intact?
