When taking things apart in my frontend of my 1967 combi, I noticed that when I had the car jacked up, there was some play in the wheel. When I took things apart, everything seems Ok, so I cleaned and greased everthing and put it back together, thinking that it must have been the frontwheelbearings that were to loose.
But when ready, there was still movement, I now saw that it was the spindle that moved somewhat on the upper part of the spindle.
How much play is OK ? How to set this play ?
Thanks in advance

| Your spindle has either a wore out kingpin or bushing. You need to rebuild these. They will only get more expensive to repair if you don't repair them. While your at it you should also check the link pins. |

Thanks for the reply.
Is there a way to 'cure' this for the time being ?
Like setting the amount of play ? Is there a trick ? |
