How do the mirror arms attach to the hinge ?
I don't see how they are attached, and see no way to remove them. My bus has arms that are not VW, I think, they look home fabricated, since left and right are not the same but it seems to me it was the intention of the creator to make them the same, he didn't succeed however...
How are the original arms attached ? Pressed in, or through the hinge and a nut on the bottom ? |

| Through the hinge. Just use a block of wood and a hammer, that should to the trick. Maybe some "Liquid Wrench, Super Lubricant" and if still stuck, a touch of heat from a propane torch. Shouldn't have to go that far though. Good luck. |

| The mirror arms are the bolt that goes through the hinge. I have the same problem. They are hard to get out but my concern is putting new ones back in. I hope they slide right through. Let me know how yours come out? I will replace mine in a few weeks. |

| like BUCOBTSTI said, make sure you use a piece of wood or something else to cushion the hammer impact. If you don't you will mangle the threads when you hit it. |

Erik,
As someone who spent the better part of a full day drilling out a rusted mirror arm, I would say you really were lucky. |

| Well, there is no sign of being the arm the bolt, there is certainly no sign of a nut below the hinge, I have no idea how they stay in there...they cannot be moved in any way, I guess it will come to drilling, if they won't move a little after the WD40 etc. For now I will leave them there, although there are crap. |
