I would love to be able to sort the car ads by year. Have you ever thought of adding that?

I could but it would only work for cars and it might be a bit wacky with the wanted ads, etc.

I would probably exclude all wanted ads if that sort of search was done.
Opinion?

As a forewarning, I would not be surprised to see many ads with the wrong year.

I was thinking after the search results were returned you would be able to sort the results by year. Just how you have the link for "show new ads on top", it would just be another link like that. Or sort-able headers in the results grid is always nice, but then you would have to add a year column.

I would expect many ads with the wrong year listed as well.

I added a "Year" selection to the Classifieds search screen.

I realized the individual categories already had a "Year" option in the sorting drop-down that appears at the bottom of every category listing.

For instance, Split/Oval Vehicles at:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/cat.php?id=65
Scroll to the bottom of the listings and there is a sort there.

The year sorting excludes all wanted ads.

It seemed to work pretty well in the vehicle categories I tried.

Nice that does work well. I never noticed that since I just usually click the vehicle link on the main classifieds page.
