My dash clock works but runs too slow. Is there an adjustment screw for increasing the speed of the clock?

Yes there is. It's a tiny screw which adjusts the amount of friction on the ends of the clock's "flywheel" (the part that spins back and forth aided by the spring. It only takes a little adjustment to change the speed. I wouldn't do more than a 1/4 turn at a time and let it sit for a day to see how it reacts.

I have some photos of the inner workings of this adjustment screw and the VDO movment on my site which may help. Good Luck!!

The mechanical clock will run a little faster or slower depending on how hot or cold it is, too.

Temprature does affect the speed of the clock mine won't even work below 30 degrees, I made the mistake of lubing it with a little light oil and it gets to thick when it gets cold, I'll have to take it to the clock shop and have it cleaned.
Also if anyone is interested you can make your 6 volt bus clock 12 volt by using the power supply from inside a Karmann Ghia clock from about the year 71, it is identical except its 12 volts.
