Sorry for my obvious ignorance, coupled with my bus being gone for 6 weeks at the body shop, does a 66 Kombi have high beams and if so, how do you acutate them?
Thanks in advance,

The high beams are actuated by lifting up on the turn signal stalk.

Not sure. It may have been '65. I know that my '66 has several one year only items because the next year was 12 volts.

1966 and 1967 both had the "lift" actuated switch. Just a side note, your front floor mat should have a small indentation where the switch would have gone through (if it were an earlier Bus)but it shouldn't be punched out.

I think '64 was the last year of the foot switch.

hey split chick, I have a theory to explain this
check out the total sales figures for busses in the 60's. I don't have the figures right here, but in 65 VW had a noticable decrease in Bus sales. In '66? Very high sales.
my theory is that they quit making the 65 style early, and moved on to the '66 style, selling them as 65's for some unknown reason (maybe internal buisness reasons) My "65 sundial" is actually a '66, but was registered as a 1965 Motorhome from Day 1 |
