I wondered if someone could tell me why this panel has no upper vents? Did it not come with them becuase its a double door, or did they get removed? I am no T2 expert, I just wondered.

It's because it's a walk-through. Bench seat panels had the vents but not the walk-throughs. I've been told it may have been an option on the walk-throughs but it is rare to see a walk-through panel with the upper rear vents....... This is just what I have heard; as I have yet to see a walk through panel with the vents.

wow, I didn't know that. Now that you mention it I have never seen a walkthrough panel before. Not to mention DD walk through panel.

i didnt know that either! that is a very rare bus indeed. earlyman? where are you on this one!!! one more on the quest to own all the DD's

I use to own a 65 DoubleDoor walk-thru panel. It was converted by EZ camper, it had no upper rear vents as well.

Earlyman doesn't want to own all dd's, he just wants all of the middle dd seats. J/K. LOL!

Yes, I can corroborate this story. Absolute fact that walk-throughs did not have vents. When you think about it, the reason bench seat panels had these vents was that the cargo area was sealed off otherwise (remember cab divider). Since the whole point of a walk-through is to walk through, there was no cab divider for these and thus no need for the vents. Bench seat panels did not have rear heat either. Instead, both heater boxes were routed to the cab. This makes the bench seat panel nice and warm for the driver and passengers and potentially horrific for the people in the cargo area held against their will. I'm not sure if walk-through panels had rear heat. Anyone know?

rear heat was in standards and deluxes, not in commercials or kombis

the no vents for walk through started in mid 58. it is possible that there are some early walk throughs with vents.

it was also a special M-option for bench seat panels.
