I know this has been covered alot but how do you guys with a radical drop get the rears on and off? Do you take off the rear drums, slip the tire under the fender, and then re install the drums? let the air out of the tire first?

Also, I am looking for tire sizes for 15 inch rims. I have stock 14's with 185/75/14's all the way around, I am planning on getting some 15 inchers (empi 5's probably, unless I find something really cool) I have a 1500 sp, and lowered the rear just adjusting the spring plates because I want to keep my reduction boxes. Is there a good 15 inch tire that is about the same height as stock, that will fit on without having problems with my rear fenders? 195/65/15? 185/70/15? Thanks in advance

to get the stockers off i always let the air out of the tire.as far as tires for 15 inch rims i have 195 50 15 tires on empi 5's with a reduction box tranny the fit will be real tight but i got mine on and off without to much of a problem before i did the type three conversion.

see, I kinda worry the 195/50's arent going to be good on the freeway with reduction boxes

before i did the conversion to the type three i ran my empis with the 195 50 tires just fine you have to remember you are going up a size in rims so you can go with a lower profile tire.the rims and tires on my bus measure about 22 inches from side to side.please tell me you filled up the reduction boxes with gear oil when you lowered it if you didnt DO IT NOW in about 3k you will thank yourself for doing it.top speed if i remember correctly was about 70 mph with the small nut tranny hopefully this helps you out,

scissor jack from an asian car. put it between the axle tube and the frame and jack the wheel down and out of the fenderwell. i have 195-50-15s all the way around on my bus.

good idea about the jack.

so my freeway driving will not be hampered by 195/50's with a 1500sp, big nut tranny with reduction boxes? my bus isn't that low, you think 195/60's would be better?

195-65-15 would probably work good for you. i missed that you were keeping your boxes... 50's with reduction gears would be HELL

Ya, it kinda sucks with red. boxes with 195/50s but I seem to be doing alright, as long as I don't have to be anywhere fast, hehe. No, I have done 80 no problems, and your bus is sitting about as low as mine at the moment, though mine might be a smidge lower. The tries I had before these were 185/65s and that sat about 1-2 inches higher but cleared the fenders easily.
