| work being as slow as it is, i took a little "me" time today towards the end of the day and polished up the bus, fixed the drivers side mirror, cracked the handle on my repop safaris and got out and drove her today!!! i also called up and oredered the wolfgang rear safari seals to try and patch up the leaks a bit. i broke the damn handle AFTER i had already ordered the seal and am too lazy to call and get the handle(latch) i am off to Home depot to buy blue tape to fight the leaks too. Moral of the story is ...drive your VW!!!! |

| I know what you mean. But here in Portland we have had twenty-something days of straight rain and I have enough leaks to make my little bus feel like a german u-boat. Life in Oregon is frustrating without a garage! Moral is...I'm still driving my VW! |

| All this talk of leaky VWs has me inspired. I just called my dad in Idaho who is restoring a 69 bug and I'm driving up and we are going to spend a week cutting out rust and replacing seals. The last couple of months I have been able to almost watch the rust form on my bus (the source of many bad dreams). Hopefully we will have both of our VWs at one of the NW VW shows this summer. Here's to VW fathers and sons! |

| yeah i just got back from home depot w/ a mess of wood. it was too dark to take pics. my first errand run!! good luck w/the leaks!! pray for sun! |

Yup, sun will be coming out here for 2 week in August ad then back to rain. Another Portlander, heh. I just keep plenty of towels in the truck if it rains really hard. Just have the windows all caulked up...looks pretty schnazzy. Well, if I find a dry place, maybe I can finally install the Izz's Safari's...hopefully the readjusted them right to fit the bus.
