Hi all,

I am going to be over on the West Coast in the LA area for the last 2 weeks of September. If there are any VW shows within a couple of hours of LA, can you please let me know. I have told the wife I want to visit VW shops and any possible shows whilst over there.

But this is meant to be a family holiday with our daughter, doing Disney Land etc :lol:

I looked in the show section, but the USA is to bigger a place for me to even know where all the locations are. Hence me asking about the LA area, thanks.

Of course you have TS, the Community section here usually lists any events worth attending.

I also recommend you bookmark this website to stay up to date on, it has most ALL the automotive events in and around southern California...

its a matter of booking accommodation and flights now to suit, so I can also tell the organizer (the wife) where I would like to be at certain times that month.

Also, I didn't realize the community section had car shows details and thanks for that link it's one I haven't seen.

The biggest show during that time would be Solvang on Sept 21, which is located north of LA and Northeast of Santa Barbara. It's a touch outside your two hour limit, but not much, and it's a fun show. Not huge, but lots of nice cars, and a great setting at the old mission town of Solvang. Solvang is an odd place (the Danish Capital of California!), you either love it or hate it. Google it and decide for yourself.

Golden Gate Chapter of the VVWCoA puts the show on. Here's their website:

But there isn't much about Solvang on it. Search the Gallery here on The Samba to see photos. I just did and 45 pages of photos show up. The Show is Saturday (most people show up Friday) and Sunday is a caravan and wine tasting tour around Solvang, so you can make a weekend out of it if you want.
