| In the United States, most were automatic, so they probably aren't as rare as they are in Iceland. |

Making a GUESS from various estimations and sources since I can not find exact figures for what you are asking for:
Estimating that 140.000 out of the 367.728 Type 4 produced in total were 412's.
About 40.000 of those went to USA and Canada

and guessing 35.000 of those were automatic.
For the rest 100.000 412's: guessing only 20.000 were automatic so in total possibly around 55.000 412's were made as automatic.
Looking at 1974 only would maybe divide that figure into two, say 20 - 30.000.
As I wrote: only a guess, anyone please correct me!
